New Life Follow Up Camping Trip Aug09

Not long after we finished our last "official" English camp of the summer, our youth group in Lviv was already proposing another trip! This trip was for some people who were at camp, along with other youth from our church. On one hand, it was SO relaxing because it was NOT English camp. It was fellowship, hiking, cooking together, more hiking, and just true relaxation in one of the most beautiful mountainous places I've been (and by far the prettiest in Ukraine). On the other hand, it was HARD! We travelled overnight to a train station in the middle of no where, and at 6am we exited the train in the pouring rain and hiked about 6 hours to the top of a mountain range. It was painful with all our gear, but it was totally worth it. Our favorite part was reading God's Word together around the fire pit, chatting about spiritual things, and watching God stir in the hearts of the non-Christians on the trip. He was also stirring in our hearts, of course. We'd love to see more of these mini-retreats in the future of our youth ministry.
